I am becoming increasingly interested in exploring how ideas conceived on a domestic scale, might be translated to a larger scale for application within an architectural context – large interior or exterior spaces.
The two piece sculpture shown here was made for a show garden at the 2005 Royal Horticulture Show at Tatton Park in Cheshire, UK.
The garden designed by Paul Hensey (Elysium Design Ltd), won a Gold Medal and Best of Show award.
The sculpture, made in collaboration with PhD student Alasdair Bremner, was made from adapted refractory concrete. Each piece was cast then ground and polished after firing.
