Pierced Forms

The pieces shown here were all made through a process of hand piercing sheets of leatherhard clay, prior to forming.

A variety of different clay bodies were used, some of which I added small amounts of fine granular material. The surface of some pieces were lightly sanded after firing, to reveal the granular texture of the clay.
